Dan's Ironman 70.3 Florida Report - 2009
Monday, May 18 @ 19:24:12 MDT by batman (390 reads)
Race informationI am sitting on a plane flying home from Orlando, and have had a full day to recall and replay one of the most gratifying and exciting days of my life. On all of my race reports in the last year, I have made mention of my battle from Obesity. I typically reference where I came from, the trials I overcame with losing my weight, and then would reference my results. This race report will be the last I do that with. I have thought about this a lot over the past 24 hours, and I have come to the conclusion that completing my 70.3 Ironman in Florida is the moment in my life I hammered the final nail in the coffin of Obesity in the life of Dan Benintendi. I will now be the Triathlete that improved upon his results, not just the obese guy turned Triathlete. With that in mind, let me take you through race day through my eyes.

Tigger's St. Croix Race Report - 2009
Thursday, May 07 @ 15:52:22 MDT by batman (273 reads)
Race informationWhere to begin . . . . What can you say about a race that includes a shot of rum in your race packet? But don’t be fooled by the rum or by the phenomenon that is commonly referred to as “island time,” this was a serious race filled with a lot of serious athletes, and the most awesome course to ever completely (and totally) kick my butt. The answer to the obvious question is an enthusiastic, “Yes! I plan to do it again!”

Batman's Ironman Coeur d'Alene 2008 Race Report
Monday, July 28 @ 12:56:01 MDT by batman (834 reads)
Club and membership informationExecutive Summary

This is kind of long, so if you have ADD this part is for you. My first Ironman was a great experience. It was a long tough day, but I finished with a time of 13:54:56.

Background

I can’t really say that I had a reason for doing an Ironman. I signed up because the week after CDA 2007 there was a bunch of people on the Tri Cowtown forum indicating they had signed up. I just jumped in on the band wagon. I had never even considered doing an Ironman, I would have been totally content to do Sprint races.

I’m glad I did.

My last race was two years ago and it was a Sprint distance race (my longest race as well).

Mikey's Iroman CDA 2008 race report
Wednesday, June 25 @ 21:17:40 MDT by batman (514 reads)
Race informationFirst the list of people to thank for help and support is too long to place here, but hopefully they know who they are and how much I appreciate it.

The swim at CDA was cold but we were allowed booties and a neoprene cap so I never really noticed the cold, by the time the adrenaline wore off, I was already used to the water.

Heidi's Ironman CDA 2007 race report
Tuesday, May 27 @ 06:17:28 MDT by batman (908 reads)
Race informationJune 24, 2007 - After a year of planning, fundraising for Fisher House, and training my butt off, the day finally came when I would become an Ironman.

Race morning I woke up nervous and ate breakfast way too fast (don’t do this, you‘ll get air in your stomach). I got all my stuff together and drove downtown. It took awhile to find a parking spot because there were signs that said not to park in front of private residences. I recommend ignoring the signs and parking wherever you want to on the day of the race.
