Welcome to TriCowtown Triathlon Club
Tri Cowtown is dedicated promoting the sport of Triathlon, having fun and encouraging members to do their best. It is open to triathletes of all ages and abilities in the greater Fort Worth area. Club meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month and are typically held in Fort Worth at Active Spine & Sport. For more information, contact our President, Craig Blackburn.

Mikey's Ironan CDA 2008 race report

The swim at CDA was cold but we were allowed booties and a neoprene cap so I never really noticed the cold, by the time the adrenaline wore off, I was already used to the water.

Heidi's Ironman CDA 2007 race report
Tuesday, May 27 @ 06:17:28 CDT by batman (70 reads) | June 24, 2007 - After a year of planning, fundraising for Fisher House, and training my butt off, the day finally came when I would become an Ironman.
Race morning I woke up nervous and ate breakfast way too fast (don’t do this, you‘ll get air in your stomach). I got all my stuff together and drove downtown. It took awhile to find a parking spot because there were signs that said not to park in front of private residences. I recommend ignoring the signs and parking wherever you want to on the day of the race.

Tuesday, April 15 @ 18:34:43 CDT by batman (110 reads) | While it is still fresh and I remain on a buzz...Drove from Dallas because I did not want to forget anything. I actually enjoyed the solitude and time to just think. It was a relief not to have to think about my bike getting there in one piece for my first IM venture. Couple that with the American Airlines fiasco, for which Dallas is the hub, I made the right choice. Plus I spent the bucks to stay at the host hotel. Point is for first timers spend the money and try and remove any potential barriers so you can have less stress.

White Cell (Rock) Marathon Report

Having done many tris over the years, I thought it would be a confidence builder to do a marathon prior to the acutal IM. So as we were preparing to move to Nort Texas, I identified White Cell (Rock) as my virgin run. I pulled a "beginner" marathon training plan off of the Runners World website. I stuck to it faithfully while maintaining my base for IM.
