Batman's Ironman Coeur d'Alene 2008 Race Report Monday, July 28 @ 12:56:01 CDT by batman (39 reads) | Executive Summary
This is kind of long, so if you have ADD this part is for you. My first Ironman was a great experience. It was a long tough day, but I finished with a time of 13:54:56.
Background
I can’t really say that I had a reason for doing an Ironman. I signed up because the week after CDA 2007 there was a bunch of people on the Tri Cowtown forum indicating they had signed up. I just jumped in on the band wagon. I had never even considered doing an Ironman, I would have been totally content to do Sprint races.
I’m glad I did.
My last race was two years ago and it was a Sprint distance race (my longest race as well).

Mikey's Iroman CDA 2008 race report Wednesday, June 25 @ 21:17:40 CDT by batman (60 reads) | First the list of people to thank for help and support is too long to place here, but hopefully they know who they are and how much I appreciate it.
The swim at CDA was cold but we were allowed booties and a neoprene cap so I never really noticed the cold, by the time the adrenaline wore off, I was already used to the water.

Heidi's Ironman CDA 2007 race report Tuesday, May 27 @ 06:17:28 CDT by batman (116 reads) | June 24, 2007 - After a year of planning, fundraising for Fisher House, and training my butt off, the day finally came when I would become an Ironman.
Race morning I woke up nervous and ate breakfast way too fast (don’t do this, you‘ll get air in your stomach). I got all my stuff together and drove downtown. It took awhile to find a parking spot because there were signs that said not to park in front of private residences. I recommend ignoring the signs and parking wherever you want to on the day of the race.

CJBryan IM Arizona Race Report Wednesday, April 16 @ 06:16:48 CDT by batman (115 reads) | The atmosphere of the Ironman is something amazing. There is nothing but positive (and slightly nervous) energy in the air. As I did a cannonball into Tempe Town Lake, I knew this was going to be an awesome day.

tri4fun IM Arizona Race Report Tuesday, April 15 @ 18:34:43 CDT by batman (143 reads) | While it is still fresh and I remain on a buzz...Drove from Dallas because I did not want to forget anything. I actually enjoyed the solitude and time to just think. It was a relief not to have to think about my bike getting there in one piece for my first IM venture. Couple that with the American Airlines fiasco, for which Dallas is the hub, I made the right choice. Plus I spent the bucks to stay at the host hotel. Point is for first timers spend the money and try and remove any potential barriers so you can have less stress.
